Captain Jack Deluxe Kid’s Costume from Pirates of the Caribbean 5 Review

G has outgrown his old Captain Jack Sparrow costume.  Plus, it’s so Pirates of the Caribbean 4.  In case you haven’t seen the NEW Pirates of the Caribbean 5: Dead Men Tell No Tales, our beloved Captain Jack has had a subtle wardrobe update.  He still has his iconic hat, belts, sash and red bandanna.  But the rest has a different look.

And that’s what G wanted for his birthday (which happens to be just before Halloween.  Halloween costumes are always great gifts around here!)

So if you’re looking for a fantastic Captain Jack Sparrow costume for kids, check out HalloweenCostumes.com’s Deluxe Captain Jack Sparrow Costume for Boys.

Important note, costume is pictured above with compass and pistol – NOT included.  G has a pistol and sword in the picture below.  Also not included.

What’s included in the  Deluxe Captain Jack Sparrow Costume for Boys:

  • Tunic (“Tunic” includes shirt with attached belts and coat – all one piece – velcro up the back)
  • Pants
  • Hat
  • Two Kerchiefs

G is wearing the boys size 10/12.  I always buy UP in costumes because they tend to run small and because G will literally wear them for years.  He loves dressing up as his favorite characters.

G is currently hovering between a size 8 and 10.  He’s wearing a 10 in pants but can’t wear some 10 shirts yet because they are too baggy on him.  The 10/12 costume fits him well enough that he can go ahead and start enjoying it but it has some growing room.  If your child regularly wears a size 12 – I would size up since G is barely out of 8s and it fits him.

HalloweenCostumes.com does have a sizing chart on the costume page if you want to double check.

Since we wear costumes more than just on Halloween, quality and durability are important when choosing a costume.  I see many days of play out of this one!  Everything seems to be well made, stitched well, and durable.  The “shirt and vest” part (front of the tunic) is thin material.  But it’s similar to what his old Captain Jack costume was made from and it held up for years.

I love this costume and so does G!  Stay tuned because after Tuesday night I’ll have pictures of him wearing it at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween party and (hopefully) a picture of him WITH Captain Jack wearing it!  That’s our goal!

The one disappointing feature is the hat and red bandanna.  These two items barely fit.  I feel like they are too small to be in the 10/12 costume.  I know G has a slightly larger than average head but I really expected the hat to fit since I sized up the whole costume.  The hat is fabric too.  So, in hindsight, I would also spring for the Child’s Captain Jack Hat that’s faux leather.  It’s a little more authentic and more likely to fit.

HalloweenCostumes.com also has all the accessories you need to put together the ultimate Captain Jack Sparrow costume.  But hurry and shop now!  October 26th is the last day they can assure that you will receive it before Halloween!

I received this costume in exchange for an honest, truthful review.  No other compensation was received.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.
