Stockpiling Saturday – What can you freeze?

Purchasing perishables in bulk is tricky because it’s only good deal if you can use it all before it goes bad. But, were you aware that you can freeze the following items?

Bread and Buns

Butter and Margarine

Cheese (shredded or block)

Chocolate Chips (or peanut butter chips)

Cream Cheese (place original, unopened packages in freezer bags and squeezer out all the air – lowfat does not freeze well)

Hot Dogs

Lunchmeat

Milk (I’ve never tried this!  Everything I’ve read says to pour a little out to prevent the jug from busting)

Orange Juice

Sour Cream

Tortillas

Yogurt

And other than the cream cheese, everything can be frozen in it’s original packaging.  I found these items just by doing a quick Google search (and from experience on the bread, cheese, and meats).  I’m sure there are other things lacking from the list.  What do you freeze?

You can also freeze items that you have already prepared like:
Ground Beef already browned
Chicken Breasts already baked
Waffles, Muffins, Pancakes, Cookies and Brownies (already made)
Chili, Spaghetti Sauce,  Chicken Tortilla Soup, any kind of soup that you have already prepared
Chopped Veggies (bell peppers, onions, celery)
Sliced veggies (squash, zucchini)
