It’s been a while since I’ve doing some honest-to-goodness couponing tutorials so I thought I’d highlight a few Walgreens deals from this week and show you how to spend the least and get the most.
In the couponing world, we call these “shopping scenarios”.
For Walgreens, it’s important to know there are two types of rewards: W Cash and Register Rewards (RR). Register Rewards work like coupons off a future purchase. W Cash works like cash off a future purchase.
“Rolling your rewards” is a term that means using rewards from one purchase to pay for the next purchase that will give you more rewards to used the next time. Essentially rolling your rewards every time you shop into more rewards, keeping the amount you spend out-of-pocket (OOP) low.
Here’s an example of what it could look like this week at Walgreens (10/17 to 10/23):
These are the three deals we’re doing to do in two transactions:

$9/2 Revlon face cosmetics Walgreens digital coupon
pay as low as $4.38 and get $5 RR back
=two FREE items plus overage

pay $3.98 for 2 and get $4 RR back
=2 for FREE!

$.25 cash back from Ibotta wyb Baby Ruth (x2)
=$.50 for 2 – $.25 each!
Your totals may vary slightly depending on which Revlon cosmetics *you pick but the prices start at $6.69 so that’s the price I’m using for the transactions. Shopping scenarios never include tax. Totals used are pre-tax prices.
Transaction #1:
Purchase (2) Revlon Cosmetics at $6.69* each
Use the $9/2 Revlon face cosmetics Walgreens digital coupon
Pay $4.38 and get $5 RR back
Transaction #2:
Purchase (2) Colgate Dental Care Products @ $2.99 each
Purchase (2) Single-Serve Candy @ 2/$1.00
use the $2/2 Colgate toothpaste coupon from 10/3 SS OR 10/17 SS
use your $5 RR coupon from the previous transaction
Pay $0 and get $4 RR back
PLUS redeem $.25 cash back from Ibotta wyb Baby Ruth (x2)
When you’re done, you’ll have 6 items you paid $4.38 for plus you’ll have $5 RR to spend later and $.50 in your Ibotta app.
