CVS Shopping Scenarios Tutorial | Deals thru 10/23

It’s been a while since I’ve doing some honest-to-goodness couponing tutorials so I thought I’d highlight a few CVS deals from this week and show you how to spend the least and get the most.

In the couponing world, we call these “shopping scenarios”.

“Rolling your rewards” is a term that means using rewards from one purchase to pay for the next purchase that will give you more rewards to used the next time. Essentially rolling your rewards every time you shop into more rewards, keeping the amount you spend out-of-pocket (OOP) low.

Scenarios don’t include tax because that varies by state.  So totals listed in scenarios are pre-tax prices.

Here’s an example of what it could look like this week at CVS (10/17 to 10/23):

These are the deals we are using for our scenarios:

$5 ECB wyb (2) Colgate Max 6oz or 2in1 Liquid Gel 4.6oz @ $3.99 each (limit 1)
$2/2 Colgate toothpaste from 10/17 SS
pay $5.98 and get $5 ECB back
=$.98 for 2 – $.49 each!

$1 ECB wyb (2) Hershey’s singles @ 2/$2.00 (limit 1)
pay $2 and get $1 ECB
=$1.00 for 2 – $.50 each!

$9 ECB wyb Granite Gold MonoFoil D Disifecting Spray 24oz @ $9.99 (limit 1)
=$.99

$3 ECB wyb (2) select L’oreal Elvive Hair Care @ 2/$8.00 (limit 1)
$3/2 L’Oreal Elvive Hair Care coupon from 10/17 SAVE
pay $5 and get $3 ECB back
=$2 for 2 – $1 each!

Transaction #1

Buy (1) Granite Gold MonoFoil D Disifecting Spray 24oz @ $9.99
Buy (2) Hershey’s singles @ 2/$2.00
pay $11.99 and get $10 ECB back

Transaction #2:

Buy (2) Colgate Max 6oz or 2in1 Liquid Gel 4.6oz @ $3.99 each
Buy (2) select L’oreal Elvive Hair Care @ 2/$8.00
$3/2 L’Oreal Elvive Hair Care coupon from 10/17 SAVE
$2/2 Colgate toothpaste from 10/17 SS
use your $10 ECB  from your first transaction
Pay $.98 and get $8 ECB back

So in the end you have 7 items, you spend $12.97 out of pocket but you have $8 ECB to use on your next purchase – ideally next week when the new sales start and there are new reward deals.
