Keep the kids reading this summer by enticing them with FREE STUFF! Yes, you can get free stuff for reading!
First and foremost, I want to encourage you to check out your local library. Librarians pour their heart and soul into summer reading programs. We actually participate in several programs over the summer because we have so many great libraries around us. G racks up every summer on freebies! We’re two weeks into summer reading programs this summer and G has already gotten a free Jack’s hamburger coupon and a disc golf set from a local library!
BUT there are other places to score free stuff for reading books this summer!
Barnes & Noble
Kids can earn a FREE book this summer from Barnes and Noble! We’ve been doing this for a few years now and it’s great! Visit Barnes and Noble summer reading program to download and print a reading journal. Fill out the student information on the first page of the journal. A parent must sign on this page in order for the child to get a free book. Read 8 books, log them and answer a question about each book. Bring the completed and signed reading journal into your local Barnes and Noble book store between July 1 & August 31, 2021. Present it to an employee and they will let your child choose a book from the free book list.
Read any four books from the Summer Reading Adventure section in-store or online, fill out the form, and receive Because of Winn-Dixie Notepad and Pen (while supplies last).
Kids can earn 10 free Chuck E Cheese Play Points for reading every day for 2 weeks. (Food purchase is required to redeem the play points.)
Kellogg’s
Ok, this one isn’t freebies for reading BUT it is FREE books for purchasing Kellogg’s products. So if you need to build your home library, check out Kellogg’s Family Rewards for a chance to earn FREE books! Kellogg’s Feeding Reading Program is back for 2021.

Pizza Hut

Showcase Cinemas
If you have a Showcase Cinemas in your area, you’ll want to check out Bookworm Wednesdays. Kids get a free admission to a select children’s film when they present a book report at a participating Showcase Cinemas box office. Tickets must be reserved in advance online and seating is limited. Accompanying parents or guardians and children under six years of age receive free admission and do not need to submit a book report.
