Have you checked your bank account for your economic stimulus payment? Waiting by the mailbox for your stimulus check? Now you can check the status of your payment on a new website set up by the IRS.
If you filed taxes in 2018 or 2019 and had your refund Direct Deposited, your payment will be sent to the same bank account. If you did not get a refund or received it by check and you want your stimulus payment by direct deposit – you can update your payment information IF they haven’t already sent your payment by check.
If you didn’t file taxes in 2018 or 2019, there is a place on the website to enter your payment info.
The website was running slow this morning but I checked back and was able to check the status of my payment!
Payments are supposed to be $1,200 per adult and $500 per child for households making under $70,000/year and amounts decreasing as yearly income increases past $70K.
Spend your payment wisely! Put some in savings, pay down debt or get ahead on your bills! We don’t know what the future holds so now is the time to be wise!
