Coupon and Rebate Apps | What You Need to Know

Your smartphone is a huge source of money-saving opportunities in the form of rebate, coupon and store apps!  What are you favorites to use?

Here’s a list of the ones you need to know about:

Coupons and Rebate Apps:

• • Ibotta – works with CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Dollar General, Target, Publix, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Whole Foods and more! Scan your receipt and items after purchase and receive cash back (requires a smart phone)
    
  • Checkout51 – works at any store – just check to be sure there aren’t any retailer restrictions on certain offers.  Some can only be redeemed at select stores.  This is a slower earning app but worthwhile to have and check before you shop.  It’s a good one for Walmart shoppers because there are usually quite a few Walmart only offers.

• Shopkick – works with Target, Publix,  and other retailers.  Redeem offers to earn points you can then redeem for gift cards.  This one requires a smartphone.  Be sure to open the app in the store to see if you can get “Walk-in Kicks” – points just for being in the store!  As well as extra points for scanning items in the store – even if you don’t buy them!

• Receipt Hog – Receive points when you upload your shopping receipts and redeem your points for gift cards!  Requires a smartphone.

• Fetch Rewards – simple, easy cash back! Works at any store.  Scan receipts, get points, redeem for gift cards. Requires a smartphone.  Be sure to put in  NJ0MU (that’s a zero in the middle)  when it asks for a referral code.  You’ll get 1500 points which is halfway to a reward of a $3 gift card to Amazon, Target or CVS!
  

Store Specific Coupon Apps and Tips

• Target  – Mobile coupons via the  Circle app
• Winn-Dixie –  digital coupons can be loaded to your Winn-Dixie card and will be deducted at the register.  Cannot be stacked with manufacturer coupons, do not double and one per purchase
• Publix  –  ​add the digital coupons you want to your account. Enter your account number (phone number) at the register to receive a discount at time of purchase. Cannot be stacked with manufacturer coupons, do not double and one per purchase.
  Publix also has in-store coupon flyers containing STORE coupons that can be stacked with other offers
• Dollar General – coupons can be added to your account. Enter your account number (phone number) at the register to receive a discount at time of purchase. Cannot be stacked with manufacturer coupons and one per purchase
• CVS​ – Both store and manufacturer coupons available through the store app. Manufacturer coupons in the app cannot be stacked with paper manufacturer coupons and one per purchase (unless otherwise specified).  CVS coupons in the app CAN be stacked!  (Like $1 off any deodorant or $5 off a beverage purchase, etc)
• Walgreens​ – Digital coupons available through the store app. Cannot be stacked with manufacturer coupons and one per purchase (unless otherwise specified)
