Barnes and Noble Summer Reading 2018: Kids Earn a FREE book!

Kid’s can earn a FREE book this summer from Barnes and Noble from May 15 to September 3, 2018!

Visit Barnes and Noble summer reading program to download and print a reading journal. Fill out the student information on the first page of the journal. A parent must sign on this page in order for the child to get a free book.

Read 8 books, log them and answer a question about each book.

  • Bring the completed and signed reading journal into your local Barnes and Noble book store before September 3, 2018.  Present it to an employee and they will let your child choose a book from the free book list.

There’s a wide variety of free books available for kids from the Barnes and Noble summer reading program.  I see some great titles on this year’s list!

Children in grades 1 & 2 are eligible to receive one of the following books:

  • The Absent Author (A to Z Mysteries Series #1) by Ron Roy
  • Fancy Nancy and the Delectable Cupcakes (I Can Read! Series) by Jane O’Connor
  • Flat Stanley at Bat (I Can Read! Series) by Jeff Brown
  • Jorge el curioso construye una casa en un árbol (Curious George Builds a Tree House) by H. A. Rey
  • Pete the Cat: Pete’s Big Lunch (My First I Can Read! Series) by James Dean
  • Sunbeam’s Shine (Unicorn Princesses Series #1) by Emily Bliss
  • The Stories Julian Tells by Ann Cameron
  • Weather (National Geographic Kids Series) by Kristin Baird Rattini
  • Where Is the Amazon? (Where Is? Series) by Sarah Fabiny

Kids that are in grades 3 & 4 can pick out one of these books:

  • Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl
  • The Haunted House Next Door (Desmond Cole Ghost Patrol #1) by Andres Miedoso

Our location will let kids pick a book from any grade level.  G’s book last year was outside his grade level – they are merely suggested levels.  Your child can pick any book from the free list.

Also – two years ago, after redeeming his free book, they gave him ANOTHER log and told him to read 8 more.  And he did and got a second book!  

Summer Reading Program is for Grades 1st-6th. (The picture above is from last year’s book selection – check the list above to see this year’s selection!)

If your child is participating in a Summer Reading Program at the local library, you can log eight of the books they read there into the Barnes and Noble log!
