Bookspan Book of the Month 3 Month Subscription Giveaway (ends 5/15)

Are you an avid reader?  I am!  Although for the past 7 years most of the books I’ve read are of the picture book variety.  But that’s okay!  Because of it, I am raising an avid reader!  And he’s older now so we are getting to read some chapter books together – classics like The Wizard of Oz (that I never read as a kid!), Dr. Doolittle, Little House in the Big Woods, and some for the Box Car Children’s series (also, that I never read as a kid).

And because he’s reading on his own now, instead of constantly asking me to read him this book and that book, and able to read to himself with fluency and comprehension, I have found myself with a little more time to start reading for ME again.   I’ve picked up a couple books at the library by my favorite author recently and have been working my way through them.

But aside from picking up books from my favorite author, I’ve been so out of the “grown-up books loop” that I wouldn’t know where to turn next.  What’s good to read?  What is right for my preferences?  Who are the new authors worth reading?

Well, Bookspan’s Book of the Month Club has the answers!  From their website:

If you’re an avid reader, one thing is for certain: there are a lot of books out there, and if you just shop the “best seller” lists, you’re going to miss many of the best stories. That’s why we work hard to discover and bring you the hidden gems that most people never hear of—well-written, immersive stories that will transport you, give you thrills, and tug at your heartstrings—the types of books that are truly worth reading. Book of the Month Club has been championing these literary diamonds for the past 90 years. And we help narrow it down. Our list is curated to feature a smaller selection of only the best stories, so you don’t have to take the time to click on hundreds of different titles. We invite you to learn more about our book selections, our Judges, and our members. We know that once you get hooked, there’s nothing like that feeling when you know that your next Book of the Month is on its way to your doorstep.

Yes, you read that right – Book of the Month has been picking out great books for 90 years!   All Book of the Month members have access to 5 selections that are chosen by a panel of judges. This month’s guest judge is Ellie Kemper, who chose The Nest!
