Amazons Free Super Saver Shipping is now on orders of $49 or more

So this happened.  I was on vacation when it did and am just now getting a chance to analyze and process it.  Amazon used to offer free super saver shipping on orders of $35 or more.  We all got kind of comfortable with that.  But for some of us that can go WAY back, we remember when it was a $25 minimum to get free shipping. Oh, those were the days!

So now the deal is, spend $49 or more and get free shipping.  UNLESS you’re ordering $25 worth of BOOKS then those (and anything else in the order) ships free.  I guess this is great when you want books. Not so great for everything else.

I know Amazon really wants to push their Amazon Prime program.  And as much as I dislike having to pay that fee every year when it comes around, I do very much enjoy having Prime!  Anything shipped and sold by Amazon (unless it’s the occasional “add-on” item)  is shipped with FREE 2- Day shipping.  (Add on items have to be order with something else.)  Plus with Prime you get other perks like free movie and TV shows to stream and unlimited streaming music!

Another way to score shipping deals on Amazon is to look out for Subscribe & Save items that always ship free.

It may be time to check out Amazon Prime!

Amazon offers FREE Super Saver Shipping when you spend $49 or more on qualifying items.  But what if you want something that isn’t $49?  Well, you can get FREE 2-Day shipping with an Amazon Prime membership.   An Amazon Prime membership costs $79 year but if you’ve never been a member or previously done a free trial, here is how to get one AND set it to NOT renew so you won’t be charged when it’s over.

Here’s how to get your FREE Amazon Prime Trial without being charged after the trial is over:

Sign up for your free trial here:  free trial of Amazon Prime Then before your trial is up, go to your account page (it’s at the top right hand side of the page when you’re logged in) Scroll down the page to your account settings where it says “manage prime membership”. Click there and you will see an option to have it renew automatically or not. Just set it NOT to renew.  You can do this right after you sign up so you don’t have to remember later!!

Easy as pie. It only works if you’ve never been a Prime member. And while you’re a prime member, be sure to take advantage of the TV shows and movies you can stream for free and Kindle books you can borrow for free.

Here’s what a reader said:    ” FANTASTIC! I always get caught by forgetting to cancel the membership and then I get stuck paying for it. I like that I can do the free trial and not have to remember to cancel. Thanks for the tip!”
