Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Magic of Mothers and Daughters book review and giveaway (7/5)

I’ve had a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Magic of Mothers & Daughters: 101 Inspirational and Entertaining Stories about That Special Bond for over a month now.  I’ve spent the better part of that month picking up the book, thumbing through some pages, putting it down again, moving it to another spot, but as some of you may know, the topic of “Mom” is hard for me.  So I’ve been on the fence about diving into this book.  And, in the interest of honesty, I have not jumped head first into this book.  I’ve taken a more “toe in the water” approach to it.

There is no doubt that there is a special bond between a mother and a daughter.  My mother was my best friend.  There is no doubt that she and I shared that magical bond.

I’ve enjoyed the stories that I’ve read in this book so far.  If anything, they’ve helped me know that it’s okay to stop at the end of the day and shed a tear over the good memories of 24 years I had with my mom.  And to remember that every ounce of strength, compassion, faith, and love I have came from her.

Every day I look in the mirror, I know that is true.  :)
