Money-Saving Tip: Uses for extra newspapers!

When it comes to saving money, no amount is too small. When you find a money saving tip that works for you, run with it! All those little savings add up.

Today’s tip is what to do with those extra newspapers after you clean the coupons out of them!

I’ll be honest, I get the Sunday paper (multiple copies of it) purely for the coupons.  I rarely read an article out of it.  And there are no paper recycling places even remotely close to me!  I try to find ways to reuse some of the newspaper.   Here are some ideas:

Clean your windows with glass cleaner and  newspaper instead of paper towels.  I’ve heard it does a better job of cleaning them AND you don’t have to spend the money on paper towels!

You can use the comics sections to wrap gifts (I’ve gotten gifts like this before!) or shred it to use in gift bags in place of tissue paper.

Donate it to animal shelters or vet’s offices – they may want it for lining cages.

Use it to protect the dining room table when you let the kids make an art project!

On a nice day, spread some sheets out on the driveway, give the kids some washable craft paint and let them paint on it.  They can even paint with their FEET!

Use it for packing breakables away.  (Most of my breakable Christmas decorations are wrapped in newspaper!)  Or save it for someone you know that is moving soon.

Do you have another use for newspapers?
