Money-Saving Tip! Use old shirts for cleaning rags

When it comes to saving money, no amount is too small. When you find a money saving tip that works for you, run with it! All those little savings add up.

Today’s tip is using old t-shirts for cleaning rags!

When you have a t-shirt that is worn, tattered or doesn’t fit anymore, don’t throw it out!  Cut up the usable parts of it for rags!  Usable parts would be the back and the front as long as there is no screen printing on it.  I don’t use the sleeves and I make sure to cut off the shoulder seams and neckline.  I can usually get 4-6 nice sized rags from one shirt if it doesn’t have a lot of printing on it.

We use these rags for dusting, cleaning up spills, washing the car, scrubbing the patio furniture,  and more!  To clean them, I just toss them in a load of clothes that I’m bleaching.  It doesn’t always get the stains out but we’re just using them for “dirty” jobs anyway!  And when they get tattered and yucky, I just throw them out!
