All About Me – Day 4 – My favorite book

Again, do you know how many books I’ve read in my lifetime?  Probably more than movies I’ve seen (I’ve always been quite bookish…)

I define my favorite book the same as I do my favorite movie.  If I want to read or see it again, then it’s my favorite.
So, by that definition, my favorite book is the one I’ve read the most and that’s a tie between these two books (read both 3 times):

Jane Eyre (Optimized for Kindle)           Seize the Night

I first read Jane Eyre in the 8th grade (by choice), read it again for a book report my senior year (again by choice), and then requested a new copy for Christmas a couple years later so I could read it again because my copy was falling apart.  :)))
Seize the Night by Dean Koontz, I’ve read three times because I think you have to read it that many times to grasp everything in the book.  Each time I read it, I understood something I didn’t get the first time.  I read it for the first time in the 9th grade, again a few years later and then once more a few years after that.  Again, I’ve always been quite bookish.

And here are some honorable mentions:
Complete Vampire Chronicles (Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, The Tale of the body Thief)

I have read the entire Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice.  I have read the first 4 and last 2 twice.  The Vampire Lestat (#2) and Blackwood Farm (next to the last) are my favorites in the series.  Was so sad to see this series end. :(((

Gone With the Wind
This book is SO much more than the movie.  As much as I love the movie (shoot, I forgot to put that one on my list!) the book is SO much more.  The movie leaves a lot out!

I would like to read Gone With The Wind again one day.

The Chronicles of Narnia Again, I forgot to put this on my list of movies (it should’ve made the short list)!  Absolutely loved the movie – watched it 3 times in the first two days I had it.

As far as the series of books go, I got midway through Prince Caspian.  I haven’t watched the movie yet.  One day, I will start over on Prince Caspian and then finally see the movie.

Since becoming a Mom, I have a few children’s books I have to add to my favorite book list:
Love You Forever   You Are Special [With CD] [YOU ARE SPECIAL ANNIV/E -OS]   Where the Wild Things Are   The Polar Express

And the Polar Express should be on my favorite movies list too…
