I know, how could I go to the grocery store and not have any coupons??? I didn’t have my coupons with me and it was completely unplanned trip. But it was a crazy weekend and we needed some stuff unexpectedly. Aldi is waaaaaaaaaaay out of the way so I had to go to Piggly Wiggly. I don’t pass any grocery stores on my way home. I go straight when I leave work to go home. I have to go right or left from work to get to the nearest store about 10-15 minutes out of my way. (I live in a rural area.)
So Piggly Wiggly was quick. I spent $50 and I know I’ll have to answer for it in the budget later. I could’ve saved a couple dollars if I had had some coupons with me. I did get their “Pick 5” promo where you save by getting 5 items from their mix and match selection for $19.99. I paid $3.59 for milk (and that was on sale!!!) I paid 69c/lb for bananas (no sale! :{ ) I paid full price for cat food. I splurged on name brand cinnamon raisin bread.
But, the “frugal gods” were watching over me because when I got home, I noticed that the Tennessee Pride sausage biscuits that I got as part of the “Pick 5” promo had a “Try Me Free” rebate on the box!! So at least those will turn out to be FREE!! :)
