Start your engines! Thomas the Tank Engine invites little engineers to team up with him for a day of family fun at Day Out with Thomas: The Ready, Set, Go Tour 2016.  Children everywhere can join Team Thomas when the #1 Engine pulls into Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum on April 23, 24, 30, May 1 & 7 .  Day Out with Thomas: The Ready, Set, Go Tour 2016 is presented by Fisher-Price.

This fun-filled event offers children and their families the opportunity to take a ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, star of the popular Thomas & Friends™ series.  In addition, they will meet Sir Topham Hatt, Controller of the Railway and enjoy a day of Thomas-themed activities.  The tour, now in its 21st year, will make 43 stops across the U.S. and Canada and is expected to welcome nearly one million passengers in 2016.thomastvrail

Specific activities vary from venue to venue.  But do expect to make a day of it!  A Day out with Thomas is more than just a train ride!  We usually spend 3 to 4 hours at the DOWT events.

Besides the train ride and meeting Sir Topham Hatt, all DOWT events have the Imagination Station (tent full of Thomas toys the kids get to play with!  As well as coloring and activity sheets and FREE Thomas & Friends temporary tattoos), story telling and video viewing station, and the gift shop tent.

Here’s more about what you can specifically find at Tennessee Valley Railroad DOWT event!

We were sitting on the front row for one of Jaden Maxwell’s shows and he picked Bug to help him with one of his tricks.  Bug started with 4 coins in his hand and with his hand closed, Jaden made the coins disappear one at a time from Bug’s and show up in his hand.  It was amazing!  His card tricks were fantastic too!

Sorry Thomas, but Jaden Maxwell was my favorite thing at this event!  You can check out the video of the entire trick Bug go to help with here.

While we were standing in line to board our train ride, an event staffer walked up and asked if Bug would like to do the “All Aboard!” over the speaker when it was time to board.  Wow, was it his lucky day!  He did great!  The announcer said he was the loudest kid all day!

This is the third year that Thomas is able to TALK to his friends at A Day Out With Thomas!  It’s such a wonderful addition that the kids won’t forget!

Here’s a video of Thomas talking as he’s pulling into the station at Tennessee Valley Railroad!

There was an excited Thomas fan behind me so it’s hard to hear Thomas talking over the kid yelling “Hi Thomas!”  But you can see more videos from Day Out with Thomas on my YouTube channel here and see him talking at previous events.

For the third year my son Stephen would rather see Jaden Maxwell than Thomas the Tank Engine.
Year after year Jaden uses his gift of illusion to share a message of believing in yourself, being weary of peer pressure, and loving others.
This year we are being blessed with his close up illusions. We love his card, dollar bill and coin tricks. His America’s Got Talent audition material is always awesome.
