You know that feeling you get when you’re coming down with something?  That, “I know it’s coming but there’s nothing I can do about it” feeling?  Well, now there IS something you can do about it!  Don’t wait until you’re sick and miserable to go to the doctor for something to make you feel better – I mean, wouldn’t you rather not get sick in the first place?

I know I would!  I don’t have time to be sick!

I went to bed early last night and got 9 hours of sleep.  Despite that I was still tired this morning and took TWO naps today.  Naps are generally great but even after two naps I still felt yucky and now my to-do list was backing up.

We’ve all been remarkably well this summer but I remembered late last winter when we all battled the nasty borderline-flu mess.  I went to the oils drawer and got out the oils that helped us get through that.

First:

Rub a drop of Thieves oil on the bottom of each foot.

Thieves oil is a great germ fighter.  During the cold and flu season, a drop of Thieves on our feet each night is standard operating procedure. And when you feel something coming on, Thieves is your first line of defense.  A 15ml bottle of Theives oil is $44.41 for a retail customer.  But a 5ml bottle Thieves oil comes in your premium starter kit and when you sign up for your starter kit, you get the Wholesale Customer Discount on everything, making additional bottles of Thieves just $33.75.   That’s about the cost of a doctor’s office co-pay.  One bottle of Thieves has saved us more than one doctor’s visit, so that’s a win!

From the Young Living Site:

Thieves® essential oil blend was inspired by the legend of four 15th-century French thieves who formulated a special aromatic combination composed of clove, rosemary, and other botanicals they used while robbing the dead and dying. Young Living’s one-of-a-kind Thieves blend, crafted in the spirit of that legendary combination, can be found in all of our Thieves products. When taken internally, Thieves supports healthy immune function*, and it includes Eucalyptus radiata essential oil, which may help maintain a healthy respiratory system.* When taken as a dietary supplement, Thieves is an ideal complement to a daily wellness regimen.*

Second:

Make a capsule  using Thieves, Lemon, Oregano and Frankincense.

We’ve already discussed Thieves – it contains Clove which is antibacterial and Eucalyptus which is antibacterial and antiseptic.  Oregano is anti-viral and antibacterial and great for fighting sinus infections.  Lemon is antibacterial.  And Frankincense is antiseptic, anti-inflammatory and lots of other good things.

So I make an antibiotic capsule (I use “00” capsules) containing:

  • 8 drops Thieves
  • 4 drops of Oregano
  • 2 drops of Frankincense
  • 2 drops of Lemon

Take one capsule 3 times a day.**

This is a great alternative to prescription antibiotics and all the nasty side effects of those.  Plus, you can start using it BEFORE you get sick.  I went to the doctor once years ago  and I wasn’t “sick enough” for an antibiotic.  But guess where I was three days later?  Back at the doctor’s office getting an antibiotic.  Thanks to Young Living essential oils, that won’t ever happen again!
