Summer Reading Freebies for Kids 2024

Keep the kids reading this summer by enticing them with FREE STUFF!  Yes, you can get free stuff for reading!

First and foremost, I want to encourage you to check out your local library.  Librarians pour their heart and soul into summer reading programs.  We actually participate in several programs over the summer because we have so many great libraries around us.  G racks up every summer on freebies – and sometimes I do too!  Gift cards, food coupons, new books, games – so many prizes!

BUT there are other places to score free stuff for reading books this summer!

Barnes & Noble

Visit Barnes and Noble summer reading program to download and print a reading journal. Fill out the student information on the first page of the journal. A parent must sign on this page in order for the child to get a free book.

Read 8 books, log them and answer a question about each book.  Bring the completed and signed reading journal into your local Barnes and Noble book store between July 1 & August 31, 2024.  Present it to an employee and they will let your child choose a book from the free book list.

There’s a wide variety of free books available for kids from the Barnes and Noble summer reading  program.  Summer Reading Program is for Grades 1st-6th.

Books-A-Million

Pizza Hut

Kids can earn a free one-topping Personal Pan Pizza from Pizza Hut thru the summer Camp Book It program. Track their reading for June, July and August in the digital dashboard and when the monthly reading goal is met they will receive their free pizza.

Showcase Cinemas

If you have a Showcase Cinemas in your area, you’ll want to check out Bookworm Wednesdays. Kids get a free admission to a select children’s film when they present a book report at a participating Showcase Cinemas box office. Tickets must be reserved in advance online and seating is limited. Accompanying parents or guardians and children under six years of age receive free admission and do not need to submit a book report.
