Do you love the Necco Wafers or the Sweethearts candies you see every where during Valentine’s? Well, you might want to run to your nearest store that carries them or hit up Amazon ASAP.
The Boston Globe is reporting that Necco, the country’s oldest continuously operating candy company, closed abruptly, telling workers to pick up their final paychecks on Friday 7/27 and ending operations that first started in 1847.
News of the closure has prompted sky-high prices online for the company’s signature candies. A case of Necco wafers was listed for almost $50 on eBay.
If you hurry, you might be able to scoop up a stockpile of candy on Amazon. (Stick to Prime eligible / shipped by Amazon products. Third party sellers are already raising prices.)
