Sleep Inn, Austell, Georgia | Hotels Near Six Flags Over Georgia
Looking for hotels to stay in near Six Flags Over Georgia? I stayed one night at the Sleep Inn, Austell, Georgia. And as far as hotels close to Six Flags go, you can see one of Six Flags coasters from the parking lot – so that’s pretty close. Technically, it’s 0.2 miles from Six Flags. I wouldn’t recommend walking from the hotel to Six Flags as the hotel is located on a service road before the Six Flags road. So getting there requires going down the service road, making a left onto the main road, then (a very close) left into Six Flags.
Sleep Inn, Austell, Georgia, is also right beside the Riverside Epicenter. Which is why we were there – for a karate tournament being held at the Epicenter. We could see the side of the Epicenter from the parking lot. You could easily walk to the Epicenter from the hotel but since we checked out before going to the Epicenter, and we had gear to carry, we just drove.
I can tell that the hotel (as of April 2016) had been recently updated. Paint, furnishings/decor and bedding/curtains looked new, modern and stylish. But a quick glance around the baseboards or in the bathroom showed the hotels real age. Our room was clean and comfortable.
The hotel offers your basic, bare minimum continental breakfast – fruit, yogurt, juice, milk, bagels, cereal, etc.
The hotel has Wifi – which is great when you need to work on the go.
They also have an indoor pool.
It is an incredibly small indoor pool area. We were there in April and it wasn’t quite swimming outside weather but G enjoyed splashing around in the pool for awhile after being in the car all day. But if a pool is a must on your stay, I wouldn’t pick this hotel for the pool (unless you’re going to be there during non-swimming season – then this is a great choice as it’s the only one in the area that I saw that had an indoor pool).
Sleep Inn, Austell, GA has a 3.2 (out of 5) rating on Hotels.com. I feel like that is a fair rating. I would’ve given it a 3. It was a clean hotel and suited our purposes. But it wasn’t spectacular.
I booked the Sleep Inn, Austell, GA, through Hotels.com. I paid $140 for our one night. I would NOT recommend paying this price for this hotel. It was way too high of a rate. I’ve stayed in better hotels for less before. If I travel to this area again, I would try another hotel before paying $140 for a room here.
But you’re in luck because I checked nightly room rates on multiple dates and lengths of stay through Fall of 2017 and the prices ranged from $64/night to $99/night on Hotels.com. For under $100/night, I would try this one again versus taking a chance on another one in the area.
