Chick-Fil-A Cow Appreciation Day 2016 is TOMORROW July 12

We are so super excited about Cow Appreciation Day (or as G calls it, “cow day”). Because of the changes to the requirements this year (and time constraints on our part) we are not decking out in full cow DIY costumes. We made super simple masks today.  (And you can see this cute video G made with his mask HERE)

Keep reading below the picture for more details on Cow Appreciation Day and more costume ideas!

cowappreciationCelebrate Cow Appreciation Day 2016 at a local Chick-Fil-A on July 12th.

It’s important to note that this year it will be different.  Adults no longer get a full free meal.  Adults dressed in anything cow-like will receive a free entree.  Kids with any cow-like costume item will receive a free kids meal.

On July 12, 2016, don any portion of a cow costume and select any breakfast, lunch or dinner entrée. Kids dressed like a cow may select a Kid’s Meal.

Breakfast Entrée choices include Chick-fil-A® Chicken Biscuit; Sausage Biscuit; Chick-n-Minis™ (3-count); Chicken or Sausage Breakfast Burrito; Chicken, Egg, and Cheese Bagel; or Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Biscuit. Breakfast items may not be served at all locations and are served during breakfast hours only.

Lunch or Dinner Entrée choices include Chick-fil-A® Chicken Sandwich; Spicy Chicken Sandwich; Grilled Chicken Sandwich; Grilled Chicken Cool Wrap®; Chick-fil-A® Nuggets (8-count); Chick-fil-A® Grilled Nuggets (8-count); Chicken Salad Sandwich; Chick-n-Strips™ (3-count); Chick-fil-A® Grilled Market Salad; Chick-fil-A® Cobb Salad; Chick-fil-A® Spicy Southwest Salad; small hand-spun milkshake; Iced Coffee; Frosted Coffee or Frosted Lemonade

I am excited that you can get a free salad or chicken salad sandwich!  I would much rather have one of those than an original sandwich combo!   And the kids still get a free kids meal.  Since I normally order ice water, our meal would still be free!

Your costume doesn’t have to be fancy.  DIY Cow costumes are easy to make!

This is how we’ve done our costumes in the years past.   My favorite, easy thing to do is, take a white garbage bag and cut head and arm holes then add spots.  I used to tape them one but drawing them with black permanent marker works better!  The black ball cap with the white “nose” and ears taped too it was a nice touch too!

For my costume, I wore black shorts and a white shirt with the black spots taped on.

Obviously, this year, you don’t have to go all out since everyone gets the same thing no matter how much or how little “cow” apparel you are wearing.  BUT it is fun.  And my son won a prize from our local CFA for being the cutest cow one year (this varies by location – not all of them do this!) so it doesn’t hurt to at least try a little.  ;)

Also note that this is valid from OPEN to 7:00 PM only!  No late night cow snacks!
