Halloween is right around the corner! Have you planned your costumes? Halloween Express has an enormous collection of costumes for every member of the family. We’re going to have a great time this Halloween because it will be the first time we’ve dressed up as a family. Bug LOVES pirates, he loves Peter Pan and he LOVES Captain Hook. So he’s going to wear one of his pirate costumes and his hook hand and be Captain Hook. I got a Tinkerbell Costume so I could be Tinkerbell. The final step was getting Hubs on board as being Peter Pan.
Halloween Express offered me a gift card to purchase costumes and items from their site to review so I saw my chance to talk Hubs into it….and it wasn’t that hard to do. He agreed to be Peter Pan! So the first item I purchased was the adult Peter Pan costume.
Since I already had mine and Bug’s costumes, I still had some money on my gift card to spend. So I decided to browse the kid’s costumes because Bug loves to dress up! The first think I just knew I was going to have to get was the Jake and the Neverland Pirates costume (sword sold separately). I’m disappointed that the Jake and the Neverland Pirates costume only comes in toddler sizes 2T and 3T-4T. I got the 3T-4T size – Bug is kind of between those two sizes right now. But the costume runs small and if he were truly in a size 4T clothes, this costume would not fit. And the headband that comes with it is too small. It’s supposed to wrap around his head and velcro together above each end and have the ends hang down as you can see in the picture from the website – you can see the red ends hanging down behind his head. That kid must have an incredibly small head because when I put it on Bug, it was about three inches too small. The velcro doesn’t meet and the ends past the velcro are only about 2 inches long. I had to tie it together the best I could. It looks ridiculous because it’s just in a big knot on the back of his head.
Here’s my little Jake. The costume is super cute, but since it runs small if Bug grows an inch, he won’t be able to wear it. You can see that the shirt is already tight across his chest and belly making the vest (which is attached to the shirt) not lay properly. And it’s a one piece outfit so it’s hard for him to get on and off himself and it leaves no room for growth or altering. It would be fine for Halloween but it’s disappointing for a child who enjoys dress up play on a day-to-day basis.
Here is Hubs and Bug modeling their costumes:
You can laugh. It’s ok. :) I told Hubs to mimic the guy modeling the costume on the package and the website. I’d say he nailed it..wouldn’t you agree?
I had some more of my gift card to spend so I also got the Toy Story Woody Accessory Set and the child’s Peter Pan costume. I put these up for birthday/Christmas gifts for Bug.

I am dressing up as a witch this year.
I will probably wear my Junior prom dress (yes I can still fit in it!), which doubles as a great Witch costume with a thin, longsleeve black shirt under it. My twins are going to be Super Why! and either Superman or Spiderman- he hasn’t quite decided which one yet.
Daughter – Princess Aurora, and son really wants to be Spiderman. He has been a dinosaur for 3 years, so it would be nice to win this GC for him!

My 14 year old son was Peter Pan last year in that exact same costume and my 6 year old was Tinkerbell!! It was adorable. The year before he was The Big Bad Wolf and my little girl was Little Red Riding Hood, one of my all-time favorites! Sadly, this year he is now 15 and will not dress up. Happy Halloween…

Still haven’t decided yet… should get on that!

My little guy really wants to be a fireman but i haven’t found a costume for him I like yet!
You should check out Kidorable. We have the Fireman raincoat. You can get the boots to match also. Then his costume doubles as rainy day gear after Halloween is over! :) http://savingtowardabetterlife.com/2012/07/get-ready-back-school-kidorable-coupons-3/

I’m going to be a slice of pizza at work (school cafeteria) and the Bride of Frankenstein at my daughter’s Halloween party/birthday party!
wonderful post, very informative. I’m wondering why the other
experts of this sector don’t realize this. You must proceed your writing.
