We go to the library A LOT. I started taking Bug last year just before he turned 3. He so looks forward to our weekly trips to the library!
I’m excited that this year that Bug gets to participate in the summer reading program (yes, even at three he gets to participate!)
Summer Reading Programs at the library include prizes for reading, story times, entertainers, and sometimes crafts and games. Some libraries even have special programs for teenagers and adults to get in on the summer reading fun also! This is a great way to keep the kids busy AND keep their minds active while school is out.
This years theme at most libraries is “Dream Big – Read” for the little ones, “Own the Night” for Teens and “Between the Covers” for adults.
If you go to your preferred search engine (Swagbucks, mabye?) and search “Summer Reading Program 2012 ________” and fill in your state in the blank and you should be able to find a library near you that is participating.
You can also find a national list of libraries here if you don’t know where your closest one is.
