Whenever we go down the juice aisle at the store, ALL I hear about are the “Lightning McQueen Juice Boxes”. But the “Lightning McQueen Juice Boxes” are $3.50-$4.00 for a pack of eight. We don’t get those often. A couple weeks ago, I was able to snag 10 packs of Minute Maid for $2.00 each (a MUCH better value, obviously.)
Bug was disappointed that I said no, again to his choice of juice boxes. So when we got home, I decided to cheer him up a little bit. He is after all, 3 years old and doesn’t understand coupons, sales and saving money.
So when we got home, I googled Cars 2 coloring sheets and found some free printables. I saved them to my computer and printed them as wallet sized images. (Just as if you we were printing regular pictures – your built in photo printing software will have the wallet sized image option.)
I cut them out and let Bug color them and glue them to their juice boxes. Just a regular glue stick was sufficient. He was so proud of his juice boxes. He kept wanting to open the fridge to look at them! ;)
Have you ever come up with a frugal way to appease one of your child’s wants? :)
What a brilliant idea! It sounds like he was just as happy (or maybe even happier) with his homemade juice box creation. Hmmm. I’m thinking this might be a good idea for cereal too.
Cereal! I hadn’t thought of that! But you could really personalize anything!
