Preschool Project of the Week – Post It Note Spelling (or Math)

Here’s a great way to work on spelling (or basic math) with little more than a pen and a stack of post it notes!

Preschool Project of the WeekPost It Note Spelling (or Math)
Preschool Skills: Letter recognition, letter sounds, sight word recognition

Does it really need any explanation?  :D

With the restickable adhesive on the post it notes, the letters can be moved around to make different words.  You can also make it a game where they have to label things with the correct name.  For example, they would stick a “D” “O” “O” and “R” on the door.  Or you could label things with their beginning letter, “R” on the refrigerator, “T” on the television, etc.

If you have one of the tiny post it note pads, this is a great activity for a long wait at a restaurant, doctor’s office, etc.  (What else are those teeny tiny ones good for anyway??)

For older children you can work on prefixes or suffixes or you can use numbers and math symbols (+ – x =) for math practice!
