When it comes to saving money, no amount is too small. When you find a money saving tip that works for you, run with it! All those little savings add up.
Today’s tip is saving gift bags from all occasions (not just Christmas!) to save money! Gift bags are ridiculously expensive!
I save all gift bags that are in reusable shape! Even from Bug’s birthday parties, I try to confiscate the bags as he’s opening gifts so they won’t get damaged.
If the tag has been written on, I just tear it off. I don’t write on the tags on the bags in case the recipient would like to reuse the bag as well. I always include a card with the gift, so writing on that little tag doesn’t seem necessary.
I have a gift bag organizing bag (tote, cube? I’m not sure exactly what it’s supposed to be called) that’s FULL of gift bags but you don’t need one to store gift bags. I have some overflow that I just fold up and keep in the largest gift bag I have. Which is stored in the top of the closet where I keep all my giftwrap stuff.
Folding them flat and keeping them in an underbed box is a good choice too.
And if I just absolutely HAVE to buy one, The Dollar Tree has a great selection for just $1.00! The only occasion I have to buy any for is a girl baby shower. I’ve used up all my “neutral” baby gift bags…all I have left from my baby shower is BLUE ones! :)
I found this cool gift bag organizer on Amazon. I’m adding it to my wishlist! And the matching Gift Wrap organizer too!
Do you save gift bags to be reused? What about gift tissue paper? I admit I’ve saved some before that wasn’t too wrinkly!!
