I dare your child to stay awake after you read this story to them. That is, if you haven’t drifted off first. It is not that this book is boring. But the rhythm of the words is so hypnotic, lovely, calming, and almost meditative, that lids droop more at each page. The beautiful illustrations are a final touch, making everything right with the world, and everyone ready to snuggle down to sleep.
