I was sent one of these books to check out and I’m close enough to “new mom” status to laugh, cry and appreciate these stories!
I admired the woman who wrote story #2 On the Way and I laughed at story #67 Noah to the Rescue about a mom who childproofed a little too well. I laughed, cried and breathed a sigh of relief at story #99 I Got a Boy. The writer and I have similar stories. I, too, lost my mother before I had a child and wanted a girl to name after her. But, like the writer, “I got a boy”. I was relieved to know that she initially dealt with the same “but I wanted a girl /all I know is girl stuff / I don’t like dirt” thoughts that I had. But in the end she and I have the same feelings – we wouldn’t trade our “boy” for anything else in this world!
