28 Ways to Save on Anything – Kid’s Clothes

Join me everyday in February as I share ways to save money on just about anything you need, want, use!

Kid’s outgrow clothes SO fast!  And doesn’t it just make you sick to buy something and they outgrow it before they wear it??

Here are some of the ways I save on clothes for Bug, who is 2 going on NBA Basketball player height! :0)

  • Thirft stores & yard sales – This is probably the most logical one.  You can find stuff for CHEAP!  And despite what some people think, just because it came from a thrift store or a yard sale doesn’t mean it’s dirty.  Clearly, I wouldn’t buy something dingy or stained or torn, but have steal found many a deal at a thrift store or yard sale.
  • Consignment shops/sales – This is another great way to save on clothes (and make some $$$ back if you participate in the sale).  I have found some consignment shops to be a little too high – but don’t let one bad apple spoil the whole bunch.
  • CLEARANCE!  If I’ve said it ONCE, I’ve said it OVER and OVER and OVER again!  I LOVE CLEARANCE RACKS!  Walmart and Target’s clearance racks are a GREAT place for kid’s clothes.  It’s not unusual to find shirts and pants (and even jackets!) for $1!!
  • Kid’s Clothing Swaps – This seems to be the newest trend, clothes swapping. ThredUp is one of them.
  • Good ol’ fashioned hand-me-downs.  I don’t turn down a box of hand-me-downs when someone offers!  If they say, “I’ve got a box of Billy’s old clothes if you want to go through them” I say, “Of course!”  If there is anything out of a box of hand-me-downs I can’t use, I find someone else to hand them down too.

How do you save on your kid’s clothes?
