28 Ways to Save on Anything – Greeting Cards

Join me everyday in February as I share ways to save money on just about anything you need, want, use!

Greeting Cards

Greeting cards can be ridiculously expensive!  Some cards are $5 or more!  I love the sentiment of greeting cards without the price tag.  With the holiday that’s coming up, I thought it be nice to find a way to save a little on those pricey cards!

  • Dollar Stores can have a nice selection of greeting cards for a reasonable price!  If it’s a store like Dollar Tree then all the cards are $1!  I’ve seen $1 or less cards at Fred’s before.  And at my locally owned grocery store, Food Giant, their whole aisle of greeting cards is only $1!
  •  Cheap Hallmark Cards – Walgreens and Publix have 99c – $1.99 Hallmark cards.  Walgreens sometimes has a RR deal on cards and Publix usually has tearpad coupons for them.
  • Buy ahead!  When Walgreens has a RR deal on Hallmark cards  and I have to buy 6 for the deal, I think ahead.  Dad’s birthday, mother-in-law’s birthday, cousin getting married, friend having a baby – those all may be months down the road.  But I’ll go ahead and get the cards!  I pick up a ‘Thank You’ or ‘Get Well’ card to because those are always good to have on hand.  When you pair the 99c cards with the RR deal you usually end up paying pennies per card!  I keep my greeting cards in one of those photo organizer boxes and they are sorted by category.  Then when something comes up, I have a card for it!
  • If all else fails, Make a card!  Nothing says “I Love You” like spending 15 minutes and a little elbow grease on a personal, handmade card.  (Think, your child’s handprint in paint on a birthday card for grandma!)
