Meal Planning Ideas

I have to do a better job of planning meals.  I don’t get home from work until about 5:15 and most days I’m exhausted.  Dinner is stressful if I haven’t thought through what I’m going to make.

So I’m going to try to plan my meals ahead a week or so ahead of time.

One thing I did last week that was incredible was I cooked about 5 lbs of ground beef at the beginning of the week.  I drained it, put it in a container and kept it in the refrigerator.  I took meat out each day as I needed it.  We had burritos, sloppy joes, spaghetti and Hamburger Helper and it was so easy because the meat was ready! 

We had canned chili and grilled cheese tonight so it was an easy dinner night and a good night to cook my ground beef for the week.  I cooked a little over 3 lbs.

Tomorrow night we will have baked spaghetti from our leftover spaghetti from last night.
Thursday we will have BBQ chicken.  (Which I may do in the slow cooker.)
Friday we will have tacos or burritos using our precooked meat.
Saturday I plan on making a big pot of Chili (also using the precooked meat.)
