A Birthday Freebie Day!

Have you been following the Birthday Freebies feature?

My son’s birthday is Wednesday so we’ve had some freebies coming in.  I decided Saturday that we would have a “birthday day” and use some of our freebies.

We had a coupon for a free Hamburger Kids Meal from Burger King, a free cookie wyb a drink at Great American Cookie Company and $3 off a $3 purchase at Toys R Us.

Here’s a recap of our day:

We started out with an early lunch at Burger King.  I ordered Bug his free hamburger kids meal.  Since he doesn’t eat hamburgers, I ordered a 4pc chicken nuggets off the value menu and we switched.  I ordered me a drink and we always split fries.

Here’s a picture of him enjoying his meal (and his dinosaur toy!)

Total spent at Burger King – $2.18

Then we went downtown to the mall.  I had a few errands to take care of.  While were were there, we stopped at the Great American Cookie Company and got a free slice of cookie with a drink purchase (it was a BIG slice of cookie too!)

Since I had to purchase a drink, our total spent was – $1.73

We also stopped to ride a truck inside the mall.  That cost 75c.  :)))

After we left the mall, we went across the street to Toys R Us.  They were having a free Chuggington event.  Bug got to play with the Chuggington train set and we got a free coloring sheet, poster and DVD with 2 Chuggington episodes on it!

After we played awhile, we looked around for something to use his coupon on.  Since he has a birthday coming up, I steered away from toys.  We looked through the books and found a Thomas the Train book with 2 stories and lots of stickers in it for $4.99.

After tax and his $3 off coupon, it was $2.44.

So our day out together cost us $7.10, we had lunch, a treat and here’s what we came home with:

I’d say it was a nice, frugal day out!  :)))  Having fun doesn’t have to cost a lot!
