We spent a nice day by the pool yesterday. I wanted to stop at Winn-Dixie on the way home to get the BOGO bread and jelly and grapes for 88c/lb
I tried to convince the husband to stay in the car with the little one because I was just getting THREE things. But he wanted to come in. Frugal shopping no-no…don’t let the husband in the store. LOL!
So we ended up getting bread, jelly, grapes, tuna salad from the deli (extra $2.99) and 2 pints of Ben & Jerry’s (BOGO $3.99). So my planned $6 trip turned in to $13.84.
Hubs also wanted to stop at Wal-Mart. So while we were there I got a 4 pack of White Cloud toilet paper for $1 (they are $2 and the August All You had a $1 off coupon) and some bananas at 49c/lb (good price!) I spent $2.09 at Wal-Mart.
That made my total spent for the day $15.93. Subtract from the $36.35 and I have $20.42 left.
This presents a small problem because I was going to Food Giant to get the Pick 5 for $19.95 (which is 5 bulk packaged products from their meat department for $19.95) because we are low on meat. I will have to spend a couple dollars to cover the tax on the meat and hope I get another rebate check this week to keep me under budget!
Thanks, Hubs! All because he wanted ice cream!
Tony is NOTORIOUS for screwing up my bargain brags!!
Exhibit A: at CVS there was and unnecessary protein purchase!
Exhibit B: at Wal-Mart there was a lotion purchase that wasn't necessary!
They just don't get it! It's a rush to get $30 worth of groceries for $6, but then they just HAVE to have stuff… worse than kids!
P.S. My "captcha" on my first comment was "waste"
HOW FUNNY!
