Tuesday’s Treat – Summer Reading Programs

We’re still a little young for summer reading programs around here, though we do have a good time with books on occasion.  ;)
Here are some things worth checking out for the kiddos of reading age this summer.
Barnes and Noble’s
Children in grades 1st through 5th can participate in Barnes & Noble’s Summer Reading Program. When they’ve read 8 books, they can fill out this form and turn it into a Barnes & Noble store to receive their choice of one book (from a participating selection) for FREE!  Form can be turned in from May 25th through September 7th!
Borders, Borders Express, and Waldenbooks
Children 12 and under can read 10 books and fill out this form and turn it in to any of the 3 stores above and get a FREE book (from a participating selection).  Form must be turned in by 8/26/10.

Your local library is also a GREAT place for summer reading activities.  Our local library has always done a summer reading program for kids and I have fond memories for participating each summer.  (I was a little “bookish” when I was little.  I came in first or second every year!)

If you go to your preferred search engine (Swagbucks, mabye?) and search “Summer Reading Program 2010 ________” and fill in your state in the blank and you should be able to find a library near you that is participating.
