On this Memorial Day, we will be at my in-laws house enjoying watching our 19 month old son splash around in the pool (if the rain holds out).
Whatever you will be doing, I hope in the back of your mind, you will remember why we get this extra day off work in May.
I come from a family of veterans. My dad’s side boasts several Confederate war soldiers. His father served in WWII. My mother’s father served in WWII and Korea. My mother also lost an uncle in WWII. My dad served in Vietnam. If you know a veteran, thank them today. If you know someone who lost a family member in a war or currently has a family member serving, thank them today.
This country would not be free without those willing to fight for that freedom.
