Getting ready for Operation Christmas Child!

I hope everyone had the chance to read the guest post from Jessica from Clip With Purpose on Operation Christmas Child.  It’s a great charity for couponers because just about everything you need, couponers can get for cheap or free!

I’ve started my OCC “stockpile”.  I’ve got a tub where I plan to keep everything I’ve collected for OCC.

My goal is SIX boxes.  There are three age categories so I’m going to do a box for one boy and one girl in each age group.

I’m going to keep you posted on my progress and hopefully you’ll consider participating in this as well.  Jessica has a $10 Box Challenge where she tries to keep the cost of her boxes at $10 or less (and since that includes the $7 shipping donation, she’s essentially packing boxes for $3!)

Here’s my box so far.  I dug through my stockpile for a few things to get me started.  I’ve got:

  • 3 toothpastes (all were FREE)
  • 3 pack bar of soap (FREE)
  • small storybook and a few pencils (just lying around so essentially free…)
  • 3 foam puzzles (clearance at CVS @ 49c each = $1.57)
  • 2 sticker books (they were in my moneymaker transaction last week at Walgreens so they were FREE!)

So, $1.57 is my total so far.  :)
