I love this! My son is 3 and he’s been three times. He loves it!! He still talks about it all the time, characters he met, and rides he went on. We started going early because it was warm and kid friendly. I love how excited he gets!! You’re right they’re not little for ever. Enjoy!

I wish I could just pull this article up every time someone gives me attitude about taking my little one to WDW. I took him the week before he turned 3 as his birthday present. I saved for 2 1/2 YEARS to pay for it and we stayed in a Value resort. (As a single mom, money is tight). And he LOVED every second and so did I. Did he behave perfectly? No, but he doesn’t do that at home. He’s a toddler. They misbehave now and again. Will he remember it in a few years? Maybe not, but you hit the nail on the head: I WILL. Best Disney trip I ever took and I grew up on Disney trips. People don’t take their kids to Disney for one reason and one reason only: They don’t want to. And they make excuses so that they don’t look like the bad guy.

And keep in mind under 3 is free at Disney you just have to buy the plane ticket.

I agree with this article. I believe you are holding out on your kids if you don’t take them. My son was 2 months shy of his 3rd birthday and he remembers the whole trip he is 5 now and will be almost 7 when we return to Disney. My daughter will be just about the age he was and I’m so excited for her first time. She already looks at the photos from our trip and gets excited. We brought my parents and they have such good memories with their grandson that they can’t wait to do it again. You can’t guarantee tomorrow don’t hold out on your kids and the memories its worth every penny.

Right? Think about all the things you do when your kids are little that they won’t remember. Their 1st birthday party, playing at the park, going to the zoo. No one would argue that they aren’t enjoying themselves in the moment. Even if they don’t remember the first time they saw an elephant up close at the zoo, that doesn’t take away from how they felt about it when they did.

How boring childhood would be if we didn’t do things just because “they won’t remember it.”

(I think I need to go add all this to the post!)

This article was perfect! Thank you for writing it. It explains everything I try to explain to people who question why we go when we can. I even took my children when they were little because sometimes its not about remembering it, it’s about the experience
