FREE Weekend Activities – July 3-5, 2015

Happy Independence day this weekend!  I’m sure you can find various free events going on locally and some free fireworks!  Here are some other things you can do for free:

American Girl Storesvarious
Most American Girl Store events cost.  But there are a few that are free.  You can check out upcoming events at a store near you here.
This one is FREE and happening July 9th:  Discover Truly Me Event
Truly Me™ encourages girls to express, explore, and discover who they truly are—right now. Bring your girl to this exciting Truly Me event, where she can celebrate her unique self! She can express her interests and style with a fun bookmark activity, sign an inspirational poster, and explore the titles that top her summer reading list, too! All participants will receive a doll-sized Truly Me tee (while supplies last). Free and open to the public. For girls ages 8 and up.

Barnes and Noble: Saturday, July 4th,  at 10:00 am
Magic Tree House: Dinosaurs Before Dark Event  – call your local store to register.
Check out the Barnes & Noble near you for more storytime hours!  Different stores do more story times on different days of the week!
Don’t forget to fill out your Barnes & Noble summer reading log so you can pick up your FREE book while you’re there for storytime!

FREE EVENT: Monthly Mini-Build on First Tuesdays @ 5:00pm (next one will be July 7th
Visit your local LEGO Store on the first Tuesday of every month and you can learn how to build a cool mini model, and take it home – for free! Quantities are limited and offer is good while supplies last only. Models are not for sale and cannot be purchased. One free per child. Event is open to children ages 6 to 14 only.

FREE Junior Chef Class
Berry Pies and Crisps – Join us to make a lattice-crusted blueberry pie and a berry fruit crisp! Kids will learn how to roll out pastry dough, cut a lattice crust, and use seasonal fruit to create delicious filling for their favorite desserts. Suitable for ages 5-13.

Don’t forget, it’s time to sign up for the Kids Bowl Free Summer Program! 

And check out the $1 movies at Regal Cinemas this summer – movies start on June 2nd in some locations.
