Frugal Kid’s Valentine Craft: Heart Stick Puppets

If you’re looking for something easy for the kids to make that is Valentine related, make heart puppets!  Bug had a fun time with these.  I had all the supplies in our craft box so it was super easy!

You will need:

  • construction paper
  • tape
  • glue
  • wiggle eyes
  • pipe cleaners
  • markers/crayons
  • popsicle sticks

Cut out some hearts out of construction paper.  We started by making funny shapes out of the pipe cleaners. To get the springy looking ones, you wrap it tightly around a pencil and pull the pencil out.  That was Bug’s favorite – the “swirly” one.

We taped the pipe cleaners and the popsicle sticks to the back of the heart (that was much easier and less messy the glue).

Then we drew mouths on the front and glued wiggle eyes to the front.

Easy as that and Bug loves his “puppets”.
