Stop Sharing Fake Coupons on Facebook | There is no $100 ALDI Coupon

This is going around on Facebook.  I guess we didn’t learn our lesson from the $150 Dollar General coupon.  Stop!  Just STOP it!

Seriously, do you think any grocery retailer is going to put out a coupon for $100 off???  I am all about coupons and saving money and there are some GREAT savings out there to be had.  BUT YOU GUYS, have you ever heard “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is”?  THAT applies to THIS.

Let’s break it down a little more.  How do I know that it’s fake?  (Besides the obvious fact that it’s $100 off your purchase?)

  • Look at the mismatched fonts.  That’s clearly photoshopped.
  • The terms of the giveaway are not how ANYONE does giveaways.  No one “inboxes” you a coupon.
  • And “within the next 24 hours” – that’s non-specific and open ended.  It should be an actual time listed that it ends
  • This is the big one: THAT’S NOT ALDI’S FACEBOOK PAGE.  First off, it’s missing the blue verification checkmark by the name that all companies have by their profile.  And second, if you actually go to the page, there are only 4 posts, all less than a month old.   SCAM PAGE!

Please be smarter than this!

This is a phishing scam just like the fake Disney vacation giveaways on Facebook.  They’re looking for gullible people.  Don’t be one.
