September?  September?!?!  Yes, seriously, September!

Here are the free weekend activities for this weekend.

Also, be sure to check out your local library for fun things to do.  There is great programming at our local libraries – and it’s almost always free.  It’s also National Teddy Bear Day on Saturday and Build a Bear has a special.

American Girl Stores

Most American Girl Store events cost.  But there are a few that are free.  Events vary by store. You can check out upcoming events at a store near you here.

Barnes and Noble:

Storytime:
 Corduroy Takes a Bow
Celebrate 50 years of America’s favorite teddy bear with a brand-new, classically illustrated picture book by Academy Award winner Viola Davis. Join us for Storytime and get a coupon from our Café for a grilled cheese sandwich with milk or juice for $4!

Disney Store:

Use the store locator to find your local store and contact them about upcoming in-store events.

Lakeshore Learning:

Kids’ Craft: Back to School Photo Frame

Some locations have their crafts on Sundays.  Check your location.

Lifeway

Saturday, September 8th @ 10:00am
Join us in Store every Saturday at 10 a.m. for a great story! We’ll read lots of exciting books, perfect for all ages.

 

Michael’s:

**Kid’s Club Crafts  include two project options – one costs $2.00 per child ages 3-8 and the second is $5.00 per child ages 6+

Williams-Sonoma:

It looks like Williams-Sonoma has stopped having FREE cooking classes for kids.  And at $30 per kid per class, I’m afraid they’ve priced us out! 

I’ll mention this one for this weekend because it’s only $10 per kid at it supports a good cause:

LUNCH BOX PARTY  BENEFITING NO KID HUNGRY

Learn how to pack your lunch box with some yummy  foods! In this class we’ll share some easy and creative recipes that go beyond the basic sandwich. Everyone at school will want to trade for your lunch!
