September?  September?!?!  Yes, seriously, September!

Here are the free weekend activities for this weekend.

Also, be sure to check out your local library for fun things to do.  There is great programming at our local libraries – and it’s almost always free.

American Girl Stores

Most American Girl Store events cost.  But there are a few that are free.  Events vary by store. You can check out upcoming events at a store near you here.

Barnes and Noble:

Saturday, September 1st @ 11:00am
Storytime:
 Pig the Fibber
Pig the Pug gets Trevor the dog in trouble so he can enjoy the snacks on his own, but then gets more than he bargained for when a bowling ball rolls in. Join us for Storytime and get a coupon from our Café for a grilled cheese sandwich with milk or juice for $4!

Disney Store:

Saturday, September 1st @ 3:00pm
Celebrate Mickey Mouse!  Guests will take part in activities that re-live some of the famous stories of Mickey and Minnie’s time. Each participant will receive a Free pair of paper Mickey Ears!

Use the store locator to find your local store and contact them about upcoming in-store events.

Home Depot:

Saturday, September 1st, 9:00 – 12:00pm
Kids Workshop: Field Goal Game
Kickoff football season with a portable action-packed field goal game. In this workshop, you and your child can build a game to test your aim. Simply flick or drop-pluck the ball through the goal posts to score a field goal worth three points. Once the game is built, your child can customize it with paint and stickers—play solo or with a friend and switch between field judge/scorekeeper and placekicker. Recommended for ages 5 through 12. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last.

Lakeshore Learning:

Saturday, September 1st, 11:00am-3:00pm
Kids’ Craft: My First Day of School Mobile

Some locations have their crafts on Sundays.  Check your location.

Williams-Sonoma:

It looks like Williams-Sonoma has stopped having FREE cooking classes for kids.  And at $30 per kid per class, I’m afraid they’ve priced us out!
