Amazon Prime Membership Price Increase to $119 on May 11th (+List of Prime Benefits)

Have you decided if you’ll keep Prime?  I love my Amazon Prime but this is a TWENTY DOLLAR INCREASE in the yearly fee.

Starting May 11, 2018, new members will pay this new price. For existing Prime members, the new annual fee will apply starting June 16, 2018. Amazon is saying this price increase will support the growing number of Prime-eligible items and to also add more content to Prime Video.

I don’t really use Prime video so I’m not sure how I feel about this.  I wish they would include Amazon Music Unlimited in the Prime price.  THAT would make me happy because I’m currently paying monthly for Music Unlimited also (Prime members get a slightly discounted rate.)

If you’ve been debating on a membership, now (before May 11th) might be a good time to get it!

Amazon Prime Benefits:

  • FREE Sample Boxes
  • FREE Samples
  • Prime exclusive deals (items at a low price available ONLY to Prime Members)
  • FREE 2-Day shipping on thousands of items – no minimum!
  • the ability to shop Prime Pantry
  • FREE shows and movies with Prime Video
  • discount on Amazon Music Unlimited
  • early access to lightning deals (especially useful around Christmas)
  • Prime Day deals! (Prime Day happens in July – think Black Friday – but only for Prime Members)

So what do you think?  Will you be keeping Prime even with the increase?

If you’ve never tried the one month free trial, you can do that too.  Plus, keep reading and I will tell you how to make sure you are not charged at the end of your trial should you decide you won’t want to keep the membership (super easy, takes 10 seconds…)

Amazon offers FREE Super Saver Shipping when you spend $35 or more on qualifying items.  But what if you want something that isn’t $35?  Well, you can get FREE 2-Day shipping with an Amazon Prime membership.  If you’ve never been a member or previously done a free trial, here is how to get one AND set it to NOT renew so you won’t be charged when it’s over.

Here’s how to get your FREE Amazon Prime Trial without being charged after the trial is over:

Sign up for your free trial here:  free trial of Amazon Prime Then before your trial is up, go to your account page (it’s at the top right hand side of the page when you’re logged in) Scroll down the page to your account settings where it says “manage prime membership”. Click there and you will see an option to have it renew automatically or not. Just set it NOT to renew.  You can do this right after you sign up so you don’t have to remember later!!

Easy as pie. It only works if you’ve never been a Prime member.

Here’s what a reader said:    ” FANTASTIC! I always get caught by forgetting to cancel the membership and then I get stuck paying for it. I like that I can do the free trial and not have to remember to cancel. Thanks for the tip!”
