Halloween will be Full of Marvel’s Avengers | Get the Perfect Thor Costume

thorcostumekids

Super heroes are always a popular choice for Halloween costumes.  Especially if you have boys.  This holds true in our household.  Bug has been one for the past two years.  First Batman, then Captain America and this year, Thor.  Hey, DC…Marvel…we don’t discriminate around here when it comes to cape and/or masked crusaders.

My biggest complaint about kids Halloween costumes are the cheaply made, thin, one pieces outfits.  His Captain America costume last year was like that.  For one, it was a pain in the butt when he had to go to the bathroom.   You have to completely undress him.  Two, you never know what the weather is going to be like here in the South come Halloween.  We could have be in the middle of an early frost, or it could still be summer.  Last year, it was the former.  Cold and drizzling.  The thin one pieces suits are not suitable for that weather.  You can’t wear anything under the costume to keep warm.  And third, before the night was over last year we had to have a safety pin to keep his costume together because the seam where the “shirt” met the “pants” was coming apart.  Because, you know, Captain America has to move, and leap, and run.

When he told me he wanted to be Thor this year I thought, “Ugh, we’re going to have a repeat of last year!”  But then I found this AWESOME Boy’s Thor Muscle Chest Shirt Set Costume.  And it’s only $19.99.

It’s a muscle costume, detachable cape, and the freaking hammer.  Do you know how hard it is to find a costume with the hammer for a decent price?   So that was score one for this costume.

The second score for the costume was that it was just the shirt.  No one piece suit nightmare when it’s time to go to the bathroom.  AND you can wear your own pants with it!  So if it’s FREEZING we can wear jeans or sweatpants.  But if it’s 84 degrees, Thor can rock some shorts.  I’m totally cool with that.

The only downside is that it only comes in one size.

Bug likes it because it has muscles.

We got to test it out when we went to Boo at the Zoo at our local zoo last weekend.  It was unseasonably cool for that early in October so blue jeans it was.  But it looks totally perfect with the shirt.  And yes, his cape is blowing in the wind.  How perfect is that?

CostumeSuperCenter supplied me with the costume of my choice for review.  I was not paid for this review.
