First Day of School Picture Idea

in Back to School

Guess who goes back to school tomorrow??? We do! Here’s a back to school picture idea I’m glad I followed through on!  Here’s my little 2027 graduate ready to go to school tomorrow!  Makes me sad to think that one day he’s going to fit into this shirt.  :’(

First Day of School Picture Idea

Buy a large or XL shirt with your child’s class year on it and take a photo of them in it at the beginning of every school year.  Watch them grow into it!

You can design a shirt to say any class year you want at sites like Vistaprint and Cafepress.  The one I made came from Cafepress.

Unfortunately my daughter is 23 now, but she had a white t-shirt from K where they put their handprints on the shirts and their names. They all signed shirts at graduation as well.

I wondered where you lived with it being the first day of school. Then I saw the date. That is a cute idea for a yearly photo.

What a cute idea. I love taking pics on the first day of school and then comparing them with pics from the last day of school and seeing how much they’ve grown!

It’s been a long time since it was my daughter’s or grandson’s first day of school. After the first year they were excited to go back and see their friends.

That’s really a cute idea. I wish I would have thought to do something like that when mine were young.

Can you imagine, in a few years the kid will get tired of this and probably not want to pose for the yearly photo.

Kids grow up so quickly. It’s nice to have a photo record to look back on.

There are so many traditions, if started now, like this photo that can be passed down. Now you can see the picture right away. I still have my camera that has film that needs to be developed.

I remember way back, the first day of school was so emotional. I cried with both kids. Sending a baby at the age of five is good for them socially yet for a mother seems too young.

My oldest son is only one and I’m already worried about them starting school. I don’t want them to grow up ! It makes me so sad to think about it.

I am a grandma and obviously don’t have young children at home anymore. I do still look forward to back to school time. The kids around here are so loud and obnoxious!

That is a great idea. I’ll have to go to vista print or maybe Michaels and make my own.

I will pass this on to my daughter. She’s always taking photos and will like this idea.

Kids are small for such a short period of time. Embrace each stage. You don’t want them to grow up and lose contact.

The shirt is a nice idea. The trick is having them stay in school and graduate.

I can’t wait for the first day of school. My kids are grown and I have little tolerance for noisy children running around.

Kids grow up so quickly. They change and grow up and before you know it they’ve married and started their own families. In a way, it’s sad, but not really. I guess I realize that I’m growing older too.

It’s nice to have something like this done yearly. As you said, one day the shirt will fit.
