A Play Place Birthday Party!
We recently had Bug’s birthday party at A Play Place in Trussville (Birmingham), AL. If you’re not familiar with A Play Place and you have kids, you need become familiar with it! :) A Play Place is an indoor play facility where kids can burn off a ton of energy, have fun and not empty your wallet! Kids get in for $8 for Open Play time and that is all you will have to spend! Adults get in free with a paying child. You can bring outside food and drinks in – so pack a lunch from home and bring it – the kids won’t be begging you for money to hit up the concessions. And there are even arcade games and Skee Ball that are FREE to play! It’s the most fun you can have for $8!
Another thing about A Play Place is that it’s a GREAT birthday party facility. (Honestly, on this end of town, it’s the best place we’ve got. We have Pump it Up in Trussville also but I’ll explain further down what A Play Place has that makes it better than Pump it Up.)
A Play Place offers 2 hour private party time slots on all day on Saturdays and Sundays and in the evenings on Monday thru Friday. When you book a party you have the whole place for 2 hours. You’re allowed to get there 15-20 minutes before your party time to set up. I went a little elaborate on the the decorations and food and whatnot but I had balloons already blown up and most of the food already on trays. There were a few things I could’ve had ready before I got there but Dana, the owner, was great and pitched in the help us get everything set out.
My favorite thing about a party at A Play Place is that you can bring in your own food, cake and drinks. You don’t have to pay per child for an over priced slice of pizza and a drink. You can serve whatever you want! (This is where I find they have the edge over other party facilities!)
