Dating on a Dime – Those were the days…

How long has it been since you and your “other half” were on a date? Seems like everyone is cutting back their spending and trying to save more. But it is so important that we continue some things like spending quality time with our significant other. Not only do we deserve it, we NEED it! Madame Deals and Living on Love and Centshave teamed up to bring you Dating on a Dime. Go here to see the previous posts.

I have school age children and all these back to school events got me thinking about my school days. I realized I never really shared with my husband who I was back then. I thought wouldn’t it be nice to get some of my favorite foods and take out my yearbook and relive the good old days. How fun would it be to share with my husband how I came to be the person I was when I met him? I think it would be a great time. I mean I wonder if he knows who my first kiss was with. I know he has no idea what I wore to my first dance and where we went to eat. I also wonder if he knows I made varsity debate on my first meet because I moved the judge so much she cried. The best part was I was given the topic 15 minutes before I had to make the speech. I think of all the trouble I had caused in school and I still was made a patrol or how I almost got most talkative out of over 500 students in high school. I am sure he would not be surprised by that one.

We could re live the eighties/ nineties. We could put in the movie Say Anything which was my favorite back then. We could eat popcorn and laugh over our hair styles and our old crushes and talk about our most embarrassing moments. I believe you build a stronger relationship by fostering opportunities to share. This is another idea on how you can make the time for one another without spending a lot of money. It would actually be a fun way to make new memories by reliving your old memories.

What is your favorite school memory?
