39DollarGlasses.com Review and Giveaway!

I was given the opportunity to review a pair of glasses from 39DollarGlasses.com.  Never heard of them?  Here is a little bit about them (and how they can sell glasses for $39!) from their website:

39 Dollar Glasses.com was developed by eye doctors to create an inexpensive method for people to acquire high quality, finished prescription eyeglasses online. From their experience in both private offices and retail establishments, the founders decided they could provide this service for people inexpensively, bypassing expensive retail establishments.

We use the same high quality materials, but can offer them at a high discount because of our high volume, since we don’t have the additional overhead constraints (such as retail rent space, behind-the-counter employees, and expensive displays) that your doctor’s office or optical must overcome. Since operating this website is much less expensive than a typical retail establishment, we are able to pass these savings on to the general public online.

The style in the picture above were the ones I chose (Giselle – in Rose).  I was nervous about ordering glasses online.  How would I be sure I liked the frames?  Would I get the right lenses?  What if I goofed up entering my prescription?

39DollarGlasses has a picture for every face shape so you can see what any pair of frames looks like on your face shape.  You can also print out an actual size image of any pair of frames!  You can search frames by frame material, style or color.  Entering your prescription is a piece of cake too.  When you get your prescription from the doctor’s office it’s written out in a specific way with different sections of numbers.  When you fill it out on the site, there are boxes to put each section of numbers in.  And there’s a guide to help you.  It’s fool-proof.  Then came selecting lenses.  I didn’t know what to do, so I picked one and when I did, it told me that that type of lens did not work with my prescription.  Oh, ok!  So I picked the other one.  Again, fool-proof!

Here’s a picture of me in my new glasses (and holding my sweet, new nephew!)

I was a little disapointed when I got them because they were just a little darker than they appeared in the picture.  (I really wanted them to be pink!)  But they fit great.  They work well with my face shape and the prescription is spot on!  And the quality is the same of any that I could buy at the doctor’s office!

If you’re ordering a pair of black or silver or “standard” color glasses, the color won’t be an issue.  I was just trying to be difficult ordering colored glasses!

39DollarGlasses can do anit-reflective lens coating, prescription sunglasses and bifocals too!
